Community rules

Discuss the budget and its reasoning. Do not publish threats, harassment, other people’s personal information, unlawful content or spam. Vote on ideas; do not coordinate artificial voting or create accounts to manipulate scores.

You can vote on budgets and their justifications, or fork your own version. There are no reply threads. Reports enter the site’s moderation queue for review; reporting does not automatically remove a contribution.

Your account and information

Your username, published choices and justifications are visible to readers. Public budgets appear in community lists. Link-only budgets are accessible to anyone with the link, including people it is forwarded to.

The site stores your username, a salted password hash, a hashed recovery code, sessions, publications, votes and reports. It does not request your email. Your password and recovery code are not stored in readable form. Keep your recovery code privately: it is the only password-reset method.

An essential sign-in cookie lasts up to 14 days. Country drafts stay in this browser tab’s session storage. Web hosting and security services may keep access logs; do not put personal information in budget text.

You can withdraw a budget or delete your account from the account menu. Account deletion removes your credentials, sessions and votes and withdraws your original budgets. Existing forks by other participants keep their own copies. Backup copies expire under the normal retention schedule: approximately 14 days on the server and 30 days on the backup operator, subject to scheduled cleanup.

What the numbers mean

Scores are upvotes minus downvotes, with one reversible vote per account on each contribution. They are community feedback, not a representative opinion poll or independent verification.

Published budgets retain their original model, baseline and calculated result. These are simplified scenarios, not official forecasts. Source documents, election dates and tax references carry review dates; they are not a live news service.
