Save, share, fork
No account, email or password is needed. Save your ten choices and reasoning as a fixed budget with a shareable link. Saved budgets cannot be edited: fork one to make a new version, with a link back to its source.
Public budgets appear in community lists. Link-only budgets are accessible to anyone with the link, including people it is forwarded to. Contributions appear as Anonymous unless you are using an existing signed-in account.
Your browser and information
When you first save, vote or report, an essential private cookie remembers your contributions in this browser for up to one year. We store a hashed session token and an anonymous identifier with your budgets, votes and reports. We do not fingerprint your device. Country drafts stay in this browser tab’s session storage.
Keep your share links. Clearing cookies, expiry or changing devices loses access to “My saved budgets” and the ability to withdraw those originals. Published links remain readable. The share link lets anyone read or fork a budget; it does not grant control over the original.
While this browser remembers you, you can withdraw individual budgets or remove this browser’s contributions from My saved budgets. Removal withdraws your original budgets and removes your votes and original justification text. Existing forks by others keep their own copies. Backup copies expire under the normal retention schedule: approximately 14 days on the server and 30 days on the backup operator, subject to scheduled cleanup.
We keep hashed IP-based rate counters to limit abuse. Hosting and security services may keep access logs. Do not put personal information in budget text.
Existing accounts and moderator access remain available separately. Those accounts store a username, salted password hash and hashed recovery code, with a sign-in cookie lasting up to 14 days. Recovery codes are the only password-reset method. Account deletion removes credentials and votes and withdraws original budgets; existing forks remain.
Community rules and scores
Discuss the budget and its reasoning. Do not publish threats, harassment, other people’s personal information, unlawful content or spam. Do not reset cookies or use multiple devices to manipulate votes.
Scores are upvotes minus downvotes. Each browser identity can cast one reversible vote per contribution; signed-in legacy accounts use their account identity. These are community reactions, not a verified count of people or a representative opinion poll. Rate limits reduce abuse but cannot guarantee one person, one vote.
You can vote on budgets and their justifications. There are no reply threads. Reports enter a moderation queue for review; reporting does not automatically remove a contribution.
Saved budgets retain their original model, baseline and calculated result. These are simplified scenarios, not official forecasts. Source documents, election dates and tax references carry review dates; they are not a live news service.
